I designed KeepTruckin’s Modern Developer Platform that gives partners, developers, and customers access to the company’s powerful APIs and tailored fleet management solutions. During the project, I learnt how to design experiences for the developer community by talking to the users, conducting secondary research, reading case studies and listening to podcasts.

PROBLEM
KeepTruckin wanted to build a developer platform to support third-party applications on the App Marketplace. The main goal of the project was to let developers create apps, test their code using API, and publish applications to the marketplace without the need to involving the API Support team.
UNDERSTANDING THE SYSTEM
An important aspect of this project was to understand how the new platform will impact the current app marketplace workflow and how we can make incremental changes. To achieve that, the project was divided into multiple milestones. I created high-level user flows to understand the current system as well as the developer journey on the new platform.
I led the design of this project by working closely with the product and engineering team to deliver a seamless self-service experience for the developers. While working on this project, I read books, case studies and listened to podcasts to get an in-depth understanding of Developer Experience (DX) Design.
The project was initiated on Sketch and Abstract and later moved to Figma when the wider team adopted the new design software.
KeepTruckin’s Modern Developer Platform gives partners, developers, and customers access to the company’s powerful APIs so that they can build and utilize tailored fleet management solutions. These enhanced developer tools bring users unparalleled efficiency to streamline business-critical workflows across logistics for fleets of all sizes.
With detailed API documentation and a self-service model, the Developer Portal empowers developers to quickly integrate KeepTruckin with third-party applications. With enhanced infrastructure, the Developer Portal gives customers and partners more control over what data they share from integrations, providing them with greater security and privacy. The portal will further grow KeepTruckin’s App Marketplace, which features industry-leading integrations that streamline business-critical workflows and allow fleets to build custom management solutions.
